Thanks for posting this account. it is exactly what I was searching for, either as walking/backpacking or part of a long run with a different return route. I used part of the bridleway last weekend. In contrast, I paid £25.50 for one night for myself and wife camping (18.07.21) with a two man mountain tent near Castle Rigg! The campers microwave accepted tokens at £1 per token that lasted 10 mins – I suppose that is progress?? At 95p for 3 nights, you have lifted my spirits no end.
