Family tradition tells me that the beautiful oakk kist which has been in my family since my great great grandmother’s day came from Bolton Hall. She is said to have bought the boards of a four-poster bed in a sale and had them converted into a kist. It is a large piece of furniture, 5 feet long by 2 feetn wide and the front is carved in Jacobean nstyle with four panels containing lozenges, scrolls and daisy shapes.
