You won’t get me out in the midday sun this week.
I manage an early-morning walk in the shade up on the fell. There is a slight breeze, but the temperature is already 26°C.
It’s a little cooler down by the stream. 
I’m home well before lunch and rehydrating behind drawn curtains; the temperature is up to 31°C.
My wise cats have more sense than those mad dogs. 
This Englishman will see you next week.
Sensible cats – the last photo looks very much like Mouse lying on the landing just now. I’ve been going out with Snowy at 6am then 10pm as it’s just far too hot for her otherwise. I’ve even cut my hours at work as doing a physical job in a very warm building is just energy sapping.
That sounds sensible re your dog and work.

I was supposed to be out and about on Friday. Plans cancelled. Cooler next week. Cats always look like they know more than they’re telling, Because they do. Today was a scorcher.

Rained this morning here in Cumbria.
Not a major crisis but I couldn’t use my scale modelling airbrush. After each use it is disassembled for cleaning. Putting it back together’s first action is to insert the needle back up the barrel. Halfway up there is an interference fit seal that the needle passes through to stop paint getting into the back part of the body. The heat had expanded that seal and I couldn’t push the needle through without risking damage. I do reslise others have more serious problems.
Would storing it in the fridge help?

I loved the temperatures of the last couple of days but Cumbria is cooler anyway.
We had a heavy thunderstorm last night, which hopefully will cool things off for us Brits
