There’s nothing that beats a beautiful garden for restoring one’s equilibrium. Woodlands, lawns, borders, meadows, roses, ponds and more.
Add to that a fantastic view across Chipping Vale of the Bowland Hills and some delicious cake. All in the aid of charity.
My frustrations of earlier melt away.

It all looks very peaceful BC, and at least it’s cooled down a bit now.
I enjoy visiting the private gardens who open one day a year for charity. It gives you an idea of how the other half live.
I like to visit private gardens too when they open as part of the NGS but it’s very rare there are any within a reasonable distance of home.
That one was part the NGS in the ‘yellow book ‘
I get online notifications of ‘gardens opening this week’ but I can click on Lancashire, Cheshire and Cumbria and rarely find anything that doesn’t involve driving a fair distance. The nearest one to me is Weeping Ash at Bent’s Garden Centre, a 40 minute drive away.
